I noticed that yelp in general doesn't get too much usage for all the great amenities the city has and the vast majority of reviews seem to be from anglophone visitors from elsewhere. Is there a preference for other sites among native Montrealais (in french or english)? What do people do to keep tabs of events and interesting sites, shows, and restaurants when living in the city?

Also, some, uh, tips for this weekend would be great in general. Throw pretty much anything at me as I like all sorts of things and there's always something I've never thought of before that might strike me as great fun. Thank you/Merci, all!

Try Urbanspoon perhaps, it is more popular in Canada than Yelp for restaurant reviews though I have no idea about Montreal. In Toronto, Urbanspoon is more frequently used than Yelp.
