So in responding to the Miami vs Montreal thread, I was inclined to do a bit of Googlemaps exploring, and got taken to St-Denis. I haven't been to Montreal in about 7 or 8 years, but I grew up there.
What in the world is going on here???

I guess there isn't much talk about it because it's not downtown, and/or doesn't involve tall skyscrapers? But holy crap... That's a massive project, by the looks of it. So between Griffintown, that Midtown thing by Decarie, and this, (and the actual Centre-Ville of course) Montreal is exploding much more than I thought it was.

It's construction of North America's largest super hospital, the CHUM. And yes, it is part of downtown Montreal, which is seeing the biggest boom in history at the moment. The last image is CHUM and the Viger Square revitalisation project.

This blog site has many pictures of the construction boom in downtown Montreal and future projects as well.

It's actually all completed now (with the exception of Viger Square revitalization). The CHUM hospital complex is enormous and cost over $2 billion to construct. Google streetview is a little outdated. Below is the more up to date photo of the area:
