The point of my previous post was the condition of most American cities before environmental regulation. Yes people can sit back currently say that the liberal environmental boogey man has gone too far however much of the legislation put into place in existence today was enacted because of environmental degradation that was doing physical harm to citizens. Cleveland’s Cuyahoga 1969 river fire, Love Canal, the severe air pollution of Pittsburgh, and ground water pollution that was previously rampant throughout the US. If it wasn’t for the despicable tree hugger, many of us would still live in heavily polluted areas. That my friend is not an environment that I would embrace. Maybe the tree huggers have gone a little too far, however I would prefer the environment they espouse any day over a purely capitalist greed centered one. Can anyone spell cancer???
