If I have an offer letter and income is on that letter, and I wish to buy a home, are lenders allowing this?

If I am moving from City A to City B (this is hypothetical at this point), and do not wish to move to City B, rent for a month to get paystubs, then move AGAIN to buy a home, will mortgage lenders allow the offer letter to be used as verification of employment and income?

If so, under what circumstances?

I have prior mortgage industry experience, but I've been out of the loop a while.

Most lenders will not accept offer letters; however, SunTrust mortgage does.

Some lenders will as long as it's non-revokable.

It used to be easier to do this.

I read somewhere if you are VERY strong financially otherwise (lots of cash in the bank, etc) some will do it.

My husband and I did, but the new job was with a subsidiary of the company he already worked for. Also, we had 45% down.
