I'd like to buy the empty lot next door to me, but not to build on - just to preserve the space between me and the other neighbors. I'm having trouble finding a lot loan - anyone have any tips on where to find one or a bank that can help me?

If you have enough equity in your home, maybe a home equity line of credit?

Refinance and roll it into a single mortgage (I realize this may not be a great idea depending on the interest rate on your primary mortgage).

Both these have some downsides, but might be easier to get approved for.

Lot loans are difficult to find. Try a local credit union.

Or see if the owner will provide Seller financing. Maybe they'll even sell it on a Land Contract.
