I know this probably isn't the most popular topic considering what is unfortunately going on today... and I do sincerely sympathize with those suffering through these times... but, I just had to share our news...
Our mortgage was FINALLY paid in full last week! Woohoo!
This IS, afterall, what we aspire to, isn't it? I mean, we've had our share of trials and tribulations, good times and hard times, and certainly struggled at times and wondered where the money was going to come from... but one thing we were taught at an early age was to pay our house payment FIRST each month, because no matter what, you HAVE to have a place to live.

Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you!!! It is an odd but very freeing feeling... all at the same time... one in which I hope that all of you get to experience yourselves one day!
I'm sure I (uhhh, ?we?, eek!) can find good uses for that freed up income now!
Congratulations to you! I will never understand the reasoning behind folks who will make their car/credit card payments before the mortgage/rent! Unless your plans are to live in your car...it is always wise to pay for shelter first!
