Per mile motorcycle death were more than 29 times than passenger cars in 2015 (driver, brakes)

I'd like to know how many of those deaths could actually be attributed to the motorcycle and how were due to things like the classic 'car turns left in front of motorcycle'?
I haven't looked it up, but I believe the vast majority crashes are the car drivers fault, but apparently this one wasn't according to the CHP. Very attractive woman and looked very involve in the sport bike scene. Very sad. The last fifteen years of my riding I rode Ortega far more than any other twisty canyon road in Southen Ca.
I am waiting for a guy to show up today to buy my Dyna. I love riding but even in a car people will cut you off, cross 4 lanes to exit and drive like a douche nozzle. put in Deer, and wild hogs and I am out. I will miss it that is for sure.
Can't fault your logic.....when it's time just hang the spurs up....

Left turns in front of bike is probably a good 70% of all wrecks......
I cant give up the sport. Driving a car all the time is utterly dull and public transit is gross often.
Feel exactly the same, hate driving cages.....95% of my running around is on the FJR.....we can run all year here in SoCal.....and you can't go 10 miles without being in a half million car parking lot.....

Did about 40 years myself with a few off periods, mainly quit because of now living in a coastal areas with roads too flat/straight to interest me, I do miss the Sunday ride. I have to say though I always found used bikes to be a huge bargain and always did my own maintenance/repairs.

Always sad to hear about a rider going down. I like what I'd call a 'brisk' pace but thankfully old bones know street riding requires leaving a healthy margin for error, I bought my first bike in 1968 and am thankful the level of performance available today wasn't available when I was young and indestructible.

Sad, but either inexperienced or just plain stupid. I would rather look like a novice then to drop my bike hard enough to die. I also don't care what other riders think of me. If I feel it's too risky, I back off.

I saw this Annette about an hour before she died on Ortega at the re-opening of a biker hangout. She was gorgeous and had spent a lot of time riding up there. She had been to some riding schools and sounded like she was proficient. In any case the word is she hit a corner down the hill at about 80mph and launched off the road and into a ravine where she died on impact.........motorcycles and airplanes are terribly unforgiving of mistakes........done both and both have come close to nailing me.......dumb luck got me out......
