Somewhat. I fully agree it had a lot of potential. It didn't quite make it... But it was enjoyable. I also would like to have seen more movies. I think of Remo as middle ground between "Bourne" (70%) and "Matt Helm (30%)."
I saw this in the theater also. I remember a scene involving the Statue of Liberty's crown but litte else. If they bring this back it will be Remo Williams: Return after a 31 year vacation. : )

Maybe get someone who could play a character like Josh Holloway's "Sawyer" to be Remo.
Until reading your post, I had no idea the Asian character in the film is actually White. And notice that the film Soul Man was released the following year -- mere coincidence?

Um...no it was not. I believe you're conflating the 80's with the 40's and beyond. In fact, in the 80's there was this Black guy named Michael Jackson who eventually played a White guy.

I was a Huge Destroyer fan<--- The books by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir.
As it often does, Hollywood did their own kind of Destroying by making the whole thing into a farce!
They did the same thing with another of my favorite book series, The Executioner by Don Pendleton!
They ruined that when they filmed that farce, The Punisher!
