I thought it was the best American movie I've seen in a while.

Smile Ides of March

George Clooney was so good in this. The movie was spot on. Loved it but I know that's how it is.

Saw it last Friday.

I cannot stand Clooney or Matt Damon or other Moveon.org cult members. Something about them annoys me, and I'm not even a conservative

Oh, I guess I never bother with endless threads like "What have you seen lately?" or "What's your all-time favorite?"

It was terrific, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman was outstanding as usual.

Fantastic film, great script, superb cast and Ryan Gosling giving a stellar performance as usual.

I truly believe he is one of the very best actors of his generation by far. George Clooney in a fairly minor role in many ways, proving he is not above being downplayed as an actor ( and I think he truly is an excellent one) despite his "name". Paul Giamatti and Philip Seymour Hoffman as ever. I was pleasantly surprised by this movie as I had heard some fairly lukewarm reviews.

I shall follow Ryan Gosling career with interest as he impresses me every single time I see him. He is one of the most understated and yet mesmerising actor of the last few years IMO.

I didn't liked it. It was missing something to make it exciting enough for me.

I disagree. I don't dislike him at all. I just honestly believe he is very lucky. Many actors who have talent aren't given the breaks that many others get. Once someone starts having success they (hollywood/studio execs, etc) seem to ride their coattails and put them in many movies. I'm not saying he's bad at all. He's definately decent. But we don't know who the best are because the same ole' tiring actors are getting all of the parts..Ex, Matt Damon, Leonardo Toocatchaho, James Franco, Gerard Butler, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, etc...

It would be nice to see some newcomers get some roles and studio execs take a chance on some unknowns. I'm personally getting tired of seeing the same damn people in every movie..It's getting a bit contrite and old...Just saying.

In fact I'm going to make a new thread on this..
