I grew up reading the books so it should not be surprising that I *really* enjoyed the movie. The bear visuals were quite impressive. It was a nice touch that Michael Bond did a cameo - "kindly gentleman" who raises his drink to PB during his first London Taxi ride.
When searching for when the DVD/BluRay will be out (~ April ) I learned that there was an animated/stop motion series in 1975-78. And of course, now I want to reread the books!
I heard that, I saw the teasers and the trailers and think it is just pick humor. Not worth it for me to plunk down money in theaters.

I lived in England as a child for a couple of years and during that time really enjoyed Paddington books. So that was the incentive for me to see the movie which I can now recommend for my siblings' children.
I actually liked it way more than I thought I would.
