Have seen most of those. True Romance is a favorite.
I will add: Local Hero
This is my favorite movie of all time. It was quirky before that quality became trendy, its scenery beautiful, its message subtle but important, its soundtrack memorable. You will chuckle more than laugh out loud, but the chuckles are frequent. "We have an injured rabbit."
Delicatessen (you have to sort of be in the mood for that one, it is a cannibalistic black comedy)
Little Miss Sunshine
I loved this movie far more than I expected to when I put it into the DVD player. In some ways, it was everything that I had hoped for with The Royal Tennenbaums, a movie about a wacky family which I felt tried a little bit too hard--and did not quite make it. Little Miss Sunshine had a light touch and a good heart.
Other choices: Just about any Coen Brothers movie, especially Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, and Fargo.
Heathers, Dr. Strangelove, Kind Hearts and Coronets: all comedy as black as midnight.
11:14 is amazing. It's been on the Encore channels a lot lately, and every time I watch it I see something new. It's a twist on the "diverse lives intersecting" flick that's been done to death (second most notable film in this genre would be City of Hope by John Sayles).
The Machinist was a strange film but good Christian Bale dropped from 180 pounds to 120 in weight. Snatch is still one of my best films I can watch it over and over again.
If you viewed "Snatch" then you GOTTA SEE the similar Brit, (use with subtitles) or you'll miss funny references, "Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels" and "Layer Cake. have you seen those

Yeah, I felt that way about "Crash"...seems to be a trend that absolutely has been DONE TO DEATH BY INDIE DIRECTORS. Same slo-mo endings too; with them intersecting. Oops, I got that wrong about who started the trend; First noticed it in "American Beauty". Now, its become trite, predictable and boring! Movie called "Chumscrubber" was the better of those genre flicks. check it out, seen it? comments? thumbs up or down?

I never saw City of Hope, but Sayles' Sunshine State and especially his Lone Star are really good films.
Amores Perros is another intersecting lives dark indie movie.
I actually like the genre because I enjoy "piecing the puzzle together."
AFAIK it was first done way back in 1974 or 75 with Robert Altman's Nashville.
