I think it's some of Tom Selleck's best work. I like this series because the characters are real, the town is real and Tom's one liners are great. Each episode is solid structured with great dialogue and plot. Tom's character is complex and true. In the days of super fast paced police shows like CSI filled with CGI and cliche characters it's good to have the Jesse Stone series.
Anyone else hooked on this show?
I got em all on DVD too, yeah I'm hooked

Love 'em. In fact, I'd go so far as to say they're even better than the books.

Mark, I have not read the books, maybe I should. But I'm totally hooked on the series. Is it filmed in Maine do you know? Kinda looks like it.

The early Jesse Stone books weren't bad. But the last one I read was a huge disappointment. The movies are much better.

I may be wrong, but I think the movies are filmed up in Nova Scotia. So not Maine, but right next door.

I was afraid when Selleck took on the new show "Blue Bloods" that there would not be any more Jesse Stone movies, but I read in a recent interview he did that they have already filmed another one and are just waiting to air it sometime later in the TV season. Also they are writing script for another one so it looks like we will get at least 2 more. Plus, Selleck said he would only do the new show if CBS agreed to continue the Stone movies. Not something they had a hard time agreeing to I am sure because the Jesse Stone movies get very good ratings.

Alright, glad someone started this thread! My wife and I LOVE these movies. We too think it is some of Tom's best work. We find watching them is very entertaining.

For fans of this movie series there is a new one on CBS on Sunday. I like the character, but didn't care for the last one much. I hope this is better.

I really like them - Tom took the character and made it his. It looks like somewhere in New England, but I read it's filmed in Canada or something.

Seen a few of them. Love Tom Selleck as I watched Magnum P.I. as a kid. I wanted to be like Magnum with a cool car and a nice place in Paradise. The stories and setting in Stone are great as well.

I tried to watch the one last night but turned it off after a half hour. Too much standing around, saying nothing, and the poor dog just was pitiful. Does he ever talk to the dog? I have not seen any of the others, so cannot judge adequately, but didn't make it thru the one last night.
