I've got a group of friends who loves to go to the movies, so we go almost every weekend. Just used Box Office Mojo to figure out which ones I saw in the theatre. There were 42.
I bolded my favorites. My least favorites are the one in red. (Blackhat was just a bad movie, period, but the others were disappointing moreso than "bad."

It's about when you go. If you are able to do first showings, it's typically $5-6, maybe $7, depending on the cost of matinees and primetime ticket pricing. Sure bargain bins are still cheaper but the theater is still much better screen and sound than you can find at home.
Well, perhaps and another added factor just may be that my graveyard shift just puts movies at the theaters at the wrong time of the day for me.
BUT.....I suspect it is just more of that the movies mostly don't interest me now. Checking my orders, I think my most recently produced movie bought was http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1735898/
"Snow White and the Huntsman"
which I learned of because Telemundo was showing it one night.
I know I don't watch that much TV but I still see some movie advertisement such as off Spanish channels and off the Net. I think the plain simple fact is that most of the movies coming out don't interest me enough to put up with the cost, the audience, the distance out of town, and that it is the "middle of my night" when the theater opens up, to go see them.
It's no longer the escape it once was.

TFA is my #1 movie for 2015 with Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, even though I saw it on DVD
