I'm trying to Saturday or Sundayish... I'm off next week so it will be possible. Gonna try to see it in IMAX. This looks like one you need to pay the upgrade for if you are near one.
Hopefully the movie goes beyond the very used "strangers trapped together who have to survive each other". It does have a good cast but I am hoping for a twist or conclusion that's not obvious. I am confident with Abrams it will be more.
I noticed in the trailer a light coming from behind the house from outside. So there probably will be a monster/Alien something lurking about. If so it will be interesting to see the design.
I also must say that is quite a decked out bunker he's got there. Great jukebox, nice sofa and he brought beer to boot!
Based on what Abraham said there is a monster in this one, just not the same monster or characters from the original Cloverfield. A different story but shares some DNA with the original.
Seems like Goodman may be the bad guy based on the brief clips in the trailer?
Some people are saying that the film has nothing at all to do with the first one and instead deals with Goodman and the others holding someone in a bunker with the person not believing what they're saying is going on outside (perhaps they've kidnapped someone, or are are group of nutzos?).
I have no idea...I only saw the trailer after reading confusing discussion on it on other boards. Loved the first movie, though, and I like Goodman in whatever he's in.
Sounds like the SouthPark episode where Cartman has Butters hide in a bunker and convinces him that the end of the world is coming. It was a ruse so that he could go to Casa Bonita with the gang.
Just saw it, very good movie. Had a few twists and turns.
Spoiler
Well the producer was exactly right. This movie featured 'monsters,' sort of, and it had nothing to do with anything from the original Cloverfield.
The name Cloverfield in the title and at one point referenced in the movie had more to do with what I suspect was a marketing ploy. A way to intrigue audiences and keep them thinking that this movie had something to do with the original Cloverfield.
It doesn't, but does share its 'spirit' with the original in terms of the background of the movie and the ending.
