Anyone seen and like the intro to Gods and Generals? Im a HUGE fan of the intro, I think its a masterpiece, no other word for it. Its touching, beautiful, captivating, sorrowful, etc. It shows the flags of states and units that fought in the Civil War, set to Mary Fahl's song "Going Home". Beautiful!!!!!

Whats your favorite movie intro?

Good thread.
Some opening scenes are credits, some are real introductions, all matter to me. Some need no description.

Hmmm. Some favorites:

Trainspotting"Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family."

coffee shop exit in Children of Men (those who have seen the movie know what I am talking about, I won't spoil it for those who haven't)

Amelie-- great production design and nice foreshadowing for the plot.

Manhattan Woody Allen at his best--this intro has some of the best music, humorously neurotic narration and visuals ever.

Catch Me If You Can--great retro stuff, good intro to the story the movie tells.

Two shockers:
The opening scene from Jaws
Opening scene from Heavenly Creatures (quite scary, and a true story)

I have many more, but will hold off for now so others can share theirs.

I'm not sure, to be honest. I don't think that they are.
