We joined for at least mandatory first 3 months--
We are in FL and AMC is our closest theater--
And movies are more expensive -- about 8 bucks a ticket--than where we usually go in our TX area
Saw 'Mary Poppins", 'The Mule" and today "Mary Q of S"
Everything if free after this--
12 movies $20---less than $2 a picture even if we both have to pay the 20--we still pay less
And we like movies--
Just wondered if anyone had joined or was considering joining...
Makes a difference as to how convenient AMC are to your locations
In TX where we live half the year, the AMC is not close but we are retired
AMC is about 6 minutes further than where we normally go--and more expensive--but with AList we save more money--and it has reserved seats--I am growing to like that feature...
Yes, we've had it since the summer We've averaged about 6 movies a month since joining. So while we are not getting the full savings with 12 movies a month, it still has saved us a significant amount of money. We've seen a lot of movies in either 3D or Imax (or 3D IMAX), and those tickets are $10-$12. So even just seeing 2 IMAX movies a month puts us ahead. I calculated it the other week, and if we didn't have A list and went and saw all the movies that we did on $5 Tuesday, we would have still paid about $80 more then we have for A list.
The only downside we've run into was if you cancel, you can't join again for 6 months. Which I get why they do that, they don't want people canceling to save up movies to watch, but there have been some months were there haven't been a lot of movies we wanted to see. It'd be nice if they allowed to freeze your account for a month once or twice a year.
We are still members—within the first 3 months
Have gone to the movies fewer times than initial month—partly because of lack of films we really wanted to see and because my husband got bad upper respiratory infection—
Too sick to go—
Now we are back in our TX house
Went to see “Cold Pursuit” for second time to go with friend who had not see it before
Went to AMC—it is farther and parking is not as convenient as in other theaters we normally use
And frankly right now there are not any movies playing we want to see
That isn’t the fault of AMC though but it is disappointing
Just had to update the expiration date on my card on file
Totally arcane procedure
Have to delete the app after deleting the app’s info totally and adding it or a different card as primary
Makes no sense
We are in TX and here we don’t usually like to go to the closest AMC
May just not renew my card

I'm not sure why you deleted the app as the information is stored in your account. It was simple when I updated my payment. I just went to "wallet" under my profile, deleted my old card and then added a new one.

I am just going by what the CS person with AMC Chat on line told me to do
And I haven’t deleted the app at this point—I just said I was considering doing it because of the crummy design
The instructions on the website for updating—said to do just that — update the info
Then a message came up to “Chat”
If there is a process MORE than what is on the webpage—
Why not put that on the webpage vs making people get individual instructions about what to do
That in itself is stupid
And on my Wallet pg there was no option to DELETE my primary card (only one at this point)
Just to EDIT or ADD NEW CARD...

Yes, you need to add a new card before you are able to delete the current one. You need to have at least one card on file for the recurring payment... I misspoke in my previous post, I added a new card and then deleted the old one after making the new card my primary payment.
I'm trying to still see whether this OR Regal Unlimited is better to go w/. In Aug, I saw 7 movies (mostly at Regal) & that or maybe 8 are probably more than likely the most I'll see in a month, so seeing a movie every single day isn't a big deal which is what REgal Unlimited offers for about the same price a month. 3xs a week of movies SHOULD do it for me.
With Regal, I probably won't care about the extra fees because I don't need the 3D, 4KHD, or whatever other special fancy screens they show movies on.
I do like AMC's seating a lot better than my Regal's...they're big, cushioned pleather w/ automatic leg rests that raise/lower & the back goes forward/backward.
Re: the changing of phones, I won't have to worry about that myself. I've had my current one for 4-5 yrs, but I want to finally get a new 1 this year in which I'll probably keep for about 3 yrs. My SO still has a flip-type phone, so I can't depend on his to log onto.
The MAIN issue for me personally is that my Regal has much better/easier parking & is less congested because it's a stand-alone bldg. All my closest AMCs are connected to malls so it's a rat race to find parking closeby, even on the weekdays & it almost makes me want to give up going. That makes a big difference.
I thought sure I liked Regal better, but now I'll have to see...
