To me it comes down to these two albums right here. I look at theses two as the absolute best that hip hop has/had to offer. Cuban linx was an eastcoast masterpiece in the same way that Doggystyle was a west coast masterpiece. What are ya thoughts. Me and my friends struggle with this one all the time. Help me out

I'd like to cast my votes in for the first 3 Outkast albums, Supreme Clientele, and the first Blueprint (Jay-Z)

From a pure production and sound value, I think Unredictable by Mystikal and War & Peace 1 by Ice Cube sounded amazing.

I think All Eyez on me(2pac) or the Chronic(Dr.Dre) were the best the West Coast offered in rap.

I am not a hip hop guy but the best albums in the genre were by Kurtis Blow, Arrested Development, and KRS One. The genre is officially wounded and creatively stagnant with little hope for a rebound.
