Also tell us a little about yourself and where you were in 1996.
I was in third grade and fourth grade in 1996. I was a staunch conservative, following my dad's lead, and rallied behind Dole and Gingrich. My leg was in a cast the beginning of the year; I gained 20 lbs in it. I was obsessed with computers and I "invented" (in my head) "Kufon Computers", which ran on KufonOS. I also got a new computer that year, one with a P5/150 processor, 24 megs of RAM, a 2G hard drive, "surround sound", and most uniquely of all....a TV tuner. That was the year I first connected to the "real" internet. That was also the year that I first had a definitive interest in dance music.
As for school, I was constantly bullied. I "got revenge" to the applause of all my dad's employees against another kid by coming at him from behind and kicking him on the ground (though not in the face, I was too good for that) in October, which landed me in detention. I regret that. I had a major crush on a certain girl, who seemed to partially reciprocate, though.
Enough of me, here are some of the songs that were popular with me that year:
Deep Blue Something "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (early 1996 - still love this song)
I was in my mid twenties, living it up clubbing, and going to circuit parties. There was awesome dance music made in 1996 . Im going to have fun adding to this thread.
