"They were just two of my favorite words that came together. Actually, it was one morning as I was getting up out of bed, and it just came to me, those two words. And it sounded so poetic. I had no idea what it meant, or if it meant anything. They were just two of my favorite words. And Mike Vale and I – bass player – actually wrote another song called ‘Crimson and Clover.’ And it just wasn’t quite there. And I ended up writing ‘Crimson and Clover’ with my drummer, Pete Lucia, who has since passed away.”
- Tommy James
I've seen that quote. If varies from other interpretations I've heard which are x rated.

The thread was for you and others to post a title or lyric which has some non evident meaning, hidden between the lines, etc.
Maybe you never knew what it meant and eventually found out. Or you don't know the meaning and maybe someone here can tell you the true meaning of some unusual lyric or title.
The thread was not directed at Crimson and Clover. I was just posting one of my favorites that had "questionable" meanings.
I heard "clover" meant "grass" as in the kind you have in your front yard.

So you and others can post your favorite songs, titles, lyrics that may not mean anything close to what we see with the naked eye.

Clover also refers to four-leafed plant with a superstitious power of a good luck charm.
