Promoting nyc (country, best, stations, radio)

I'm playing a string of shows in ny here in a couple weeks. Any advice on the best ways to promote from here in Ohio? Thanks.

What kind of music do you perform? You could use myspace.com or contact local radio stations. The only music not represented in NYC is country so if you were playing that, you would be out of luck. Anyway, I wish you much success with your shows.

I would look at some of the southern bars and hangouts in NYC. Duke's on 3rd Ave, Brother Jimmy's on 33rd & 8th, Hog's & Heffers in the Meatpacking District, Southern Hospitality on 76th & 2nd, Live Bait on 23rd & Madison. There are a lot more southern joints in the city, but these are the ones I know well.
