Although not a huge star, Gerry Rafferty wrote two of my favorite songs from the 1970s, plus several other excellent tunes. I have his Album "City to City" from 1978 on both vinyl and CD and play it regularly--It included Baker Street plus the additional hits "Right Down The Line" and "Home & Dry". Definitely worth looking into if you like his tunes!!
Anyway, I was saddened last week when I heard that he had died at age 63, due to liver problems caused by a long-time struggle with alcoholism. Like many artists, he was not comfortable in the limelight and had difficulty with fame.
Here are two of my favorite '70s songs, plus another lesser known track from City to City.
Agreed. The "Baker's Street" of course is the same theme song used for the intro of Dave Ramsey's radio show. Fame can be hard for some of those that can't really handle it well.
