First of all, okay Katy, you have a powerful voice. But, all she does is sing at the top of her lungs. It's like she's yelling at me for three minutes every time a song of hers comes on the radio. I can't take it. I have to change the station.
And I recently looked on Youtube for an interview with her, because I wanted to try and understand this Katy Perry adoration. She struck me as someone I couldn't like. She was weird and just didn't strike me as a likeable, down-to-earth person at all. She seemed more interesting in posing and looking at the interviewer in a way that emphasized her large eyes, by opening them really widely.
Anyway, I am stuck on my chair right now with my radio across the room and just had to suffer through 3 minutes of Katy Perry yelling at me, and it inspired me to start a thread to see if there's anybody else out there who is not enamored with Katy Perry, no matter how many times we hear her or see her photo.
Whether she's likeable or not, I'll never know. She's really hot, though.
LOL. I searched the forum and found a thread about her from many years ago, and that was really the only constant positive thing anyone said about her back then - that she's hot.
It was kind of like this in Madonna's early days, too. Madonna couldn't really sing to save her life and she certainly was not likeable. She was also smart enough to "co-write" all her songs, like Katy Perry, so she got rich on the royalties. And she sure couldn't act. At least Madonna could always dance.
Madonna's voice did improve over the years. But, she was really just an exceptional businesswoman who understood the PR machine.
If you don't listen to top 40 radio or read People magazine (and really, why would you?) she may as well not even exist. I haven't heard one of her songs since I Kissed a Girl. She's easy to avoid, so if she annoys you, think about changing the channel.
Can't stand her music or her antics. She is way overrated.
