Love Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Many people don't know they actually wrote and performed Black Magic Woman originally. Santana also covered their song Oh Well.

My newest favorite late beautiful precious Billy Joe Royal was in the pop field when first getting starting and then later on crossed over into the country field.

God bless you and his family always!!!

Holly

P.S. I love every song that was done by him in both fields!

Ronnie Montrose made this iconic rock album in 1973, with Sammy Hagar on vocals. I would bet a case of beer that a young Edward Van Halen was listening intently....

In the late 70s Montrose released an album of instrumentals, a mix of blues, jazz and rock

In the early 80s he was rocking again with the group Gamma

Robbie Robertson's career spanned across many a music divide.

First as bassist for The Band

The Band also backed Bob Dylan during his infamous tour when he first went electric.

Then Robbie had a solo career and the music in it was quite diverse and included his Native American heritage.

He now writes symphony scores for all of Martin Scorsese movies

Olivia Newton-John started out recording country (pop-country, but still)... I wonder how many people remember that?

It didn't take her very many years to go disco...

Since much of the Contemporary Christian Music produced from the 90s onward seem to come from the same influences as U2 had they were often joked to be 3/4 of the greatest Christian band ever because of their "title" of the greatest rock band of their generation and Adam Clayton being the lone member not a professing Christian.
