X achieved gargantuan mid eighties success by masquerading as a rock & roller. Due to X's bar band competence, the hits were letter perfect versions of fundamental rock, but X's remarkable un-nuanced vocals and jockish sensibility were such that the songs missed the spirit by miles. After a desultory debut, the sextet scored hits with song X and song XX from album X. It was an album of blueprints for the generic fare that would soon endear itself to millions. Virtually everything on album XX was swallowed up by radio; song XXX pretended to be blues, song XXXX was naughty, song XXXXX pandered to anyone who did not like music past 1977. The entire record, predictable polished, inert, could have passed for a soundtrack from a TV commercial. With album XXX, X was actually getting people to believe that it was "----". Album XXXX and album XXXXX were more of the same.
if you can guess the band, try also filling in the X's, proving that you really know the band and it's tunes!!
Aerosmith was considered harder rock & roll than this band. this band was like a fusion of bar band blues, surf pop harmonies and modern 80's pop rock bands like Journey
Really??? WOW!! Ok, let's see what I can do with the rest of the X's. Give me a minute.
