Aside from other bands already mentioned, I pick Joseph Arthur, The Strokes, The National, The New Pornographers, and the Teeth just to name a few.

This thread makes me feel good. I thought I was losing touch and becoming an old fart because I don't like any new bands. I love the old stuff, Beatles, Kinks, Zep, Deep Purple........fast forward....Jane Addiction, Alice in Chains then I graduated college and there has only been a handfull of unique bands that caught my ear. White Stripes being my fav of the last 8 yrs. System of a Down and Disturbed in small doses and a very few other groups/songs here and there.

Do people consider Of Montreal to have come out in the 2000's? From their bio, they came out in the late 90's, but most of their work has been this decade. Anyway I just recently got into them, but I think they are brilliant...

Oh I'll add Kanye West to the list of artists also...

Gotta say the 00's looks pretty weak so far...

Christina Aguilera (though she is 98)

But she re-invents her image alot.

She's the "genie in the bottle girl"

But listen to her songs now. Great quality!

Beyonce and Rihanna too.
