Ya know what? I guess I dont have to tell you. LPs are not worth a damn anymore. Even collectors have given up their passion. You can get those damn records at garage sales for a dollar a dozen. Times have changed and not for the best.
This is a neat idea for a thread too. I doubt anyone will touch the numbers you have. Not even with CDs which even I admit are better then records.
I have no idea how many I have because most are in storage as we live on the road for the most part and only carry the bare minimum as full time RVers. I suspect I have 600 CDs and I betcha only about a dozen were bought in the last 5 years. It's not like there is any new music coming out to buy except for country which probably accounts for all dozen.
Maybe we can also combine this thread on quanity of CDs with quanity of concerts. I ain't making a video of it but I have been to 526 concerts in about the last 35 years. And I have every single ticket stub to prove it. I collect concert ticket stubs. I wish I collected those black concert shirts of the 70s and 80s.
At least 500+,counting both vinyl and cd.

I'm around that amount too...you'd think that with the USB turntable that would open up doors on folks buying up rare yet-to-CD to at least have it digitized.
I have a very small collection, but now we have a great vintage vinyl shop here in my town, so I've bought a couple things from there! Now, I just need to get myself a new turntable!
If anything I find myself migrating away from CD's and going strictly to MP3's and vinyl.
I've been going to the library to burn cd's and yeah, I seem to be inspired to go vinyl hunting again, now that I can convert them digitally to make them portable. Yet, I still spin vinyl at home. Nothing sounds like it.
I couldn't agree more. I haven't counted my LPs, but I have about 14 feet of them side by side. I also have about 400 45s and perhaps 300 78s. I like CDs too, but they don't seem to have the same warmth.
It's easy to amass 14 feet worth of lp's Catman! I've been buying vinyl since 1962, cd's since 1986. But I always look for cassettes, sheet music, posters, and other memorabilia whenever I get out to yard sales, indoor and outdoor flea markets, and the occasional thrift store find. Long live the mom and pop independent record/cd stores as well!
I think in my heyday I had 150 LP's and at least that many cassette's, over the last 10 years or so I have given away all of my vinyl, and two years ago my turntable didn't make the move with me. It was a sad day.
many of my cassette's didn't age well still others were lost in moves or left at ex's, so I currently have 50 or so and I can't remember the last time I played one.
I currently have about 75 store bought cd's and about 200 homemade.
Long live the mom and pop independent record/cd stores as well!
Hear, hear! There aren't many of those left in these here parts. There is one called 'Record Town' over by TCU that I like a lot. They have stuff that you just don't see anywhere else!
