When I think of boy bands I think of bands like New Kids on the Block or Take That or the plethora of clones that followed them right down to One Direction who are the current fad, I never think of bands like the Psychedelic Furs or Roxy Music that actually composed and played their own music. I suppose technically they were bands that were all male though so I guess you could call them that, it seems a bit demeaning to their actual abilities to me though.
