Back in '88, Talking Heads keyboardist-guitarist Jerry Harrison wanted to "Rev It Up." From his album Casual Gods.

Years before he became known as Soundgarden's lead guitarist, Seattle native Kim Thayil played in a punk band called Identity Crisis.

They released a 7" with three songs (one of which is literally 22 seconds long) in 1980 and that was it. Funny to hear for curiosity's sake. The Joey Ramone-wannabe vocals by John Ross aren't too hot.

The first single/video from Bowie's rock band Tin Machine (with Reeves Gabrels and the Hunt bros), "Under The God," was all over the place in '89.

This video, not so much from what I can remember. Good song, either way. Doesn't look like it's been posted yet.

This may have been posted but it doesn't show up in the search.

"Radio Waves," the opening song/video from Roger Waters' second full solo album Radio K.A.O.S. (1987). I like this more than I used to, believe it or not.

In her native Canada, this was released in 1989 several months before "Black Velvet". In the US it was released after, in early 1990. "Love Is", Alannah Myles.

^"Black Velvet" was all over the place. "Love Is" kind of came and went. Does she still record?* I thought she was pretty hot.

*I went and looked her up on Discogs. She seems to be retired or semi-retired. An archival release came out in 2014.

Last week wife texted me... "Who was that band with the singer who sounded like AC/DC but they killed a couple cans of Aqua Net for their video which featured a pair of mean girls and a cameo by Ozzy Osbourne? " I thought about it a bit and realized it was this one, which according to a search hasn't yet been posted. Cinderella, "Shake Me".
