It's Weird Al Yankovic's birthday today (he's 49)....it got me thinking about novelty songs

My favorites are....

The Monster Mash ....by Bobby Boris Pickett (I have the 45)
Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah ....by Allen Sherman
Lumberjack Song ....by Monty Python (a real classic funny song)
The Chipmunk Song ...by David Seville ( I have on 45)
Snoopy Vs The Red Baron ...by The Royal Guardsmen (my first 45)

Weird Al had a few "classics'....
Another One Rides the Bus
Eat It ....(I have the 45, I prefer it to Jackson's Beat It)

Novelty songs can be just "strange", not intentionally funny tunes
For Example, I always think of Mungo Jerry's "In the Summertime" 1970 hit
as being a novelty song ....or The Irish Rovers 1968 song "The Unicorn"

Does Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense and Peppermints" count? I find that one odd but fun.
