Seems like this thread is going on a stretch, there doesn't seem to be a lot of all women bands that wrote their material/played their own instruments...
There were a some great women artists who played their own instruments, wrote their own material like Joni Mitchell, and Grace Slick but fronting a band of all men...lotsa guts that Ms. Slick, and something about a blue eyed brunette drives me happy nuts!
It leaves me to think that the time back then did not leave the door open wide enough to give all women bands their due, or were non-existent. The ones that existed then seemed somewhat cheesy, novelty and marginalized.
And of course we can thank all the clueless A&R guys for that.
There's also The Slits:
Moderator cut: Nudity - Sorry needs to be PG13 rated.
For sure they would have put the kabash on the Slits in 1967, 68, 69 so on...the A&R pigs then would not know how to handle it. It was a repressive time...even though it was free love then. Some women in certain camps would find that cover offensive today!

The Slits in a sense were the British Runaways.
BTW Suzi Quatro was in an all female band with her sister in the mid-60s called the Pleasure Seekers. They played a USO tour of Vietnam to play for the troops.
