I go to the Vision Center in the Walmart in Surfside. I can't remember the optometrist's name, but I think there is only one (if so it would be Dr Stuart Creson). He was very pleasant and I found him to be extremely thorough ... didn't hurt that he was very reasonably priced either.
I recently saw Dr. Smith at Murrells Inlet Vision Center. He seemed very thorough and actually let me dial in to the right prescription myself using the knob on those over size specs -a lot easier pinpointing what I needed than trying to distinguish between option 1 or option 2, option 1 or option 3 etc....
I live on the south end of MB, yet I went to NMB, the savings were worth it. I had not had an exam since 95 and have used that Rx for glasses a number of times, figured it was about time to upgrade.
Free eye exam when you purchase 2 pair of glasses, they sell overstocked and discontinued frames, I got 2 pair for $104, one frame is nascar, can't beat them.
Guess y'all want the name of the place Americas Best in the Gator Hole Shopping Center, take 31 to Main St connector, then left on 17 and it is 2-3 blocks on your right.
So how did that go tmozer? I think we might head to Americas Best tomorrow as I was just in Vision Works and it is so confusing. How can 1/2 price glasses come to almost $400.00. That would make them worth $800.00. I got my 1/2 price glasses at Penneys last year and it was something like $336.00. My friends kept saying to me then full price would be almost $700 dollars. We would laugh and try to make sense of it.
All these sale ads just don't cut it. It never works.
I did use America's Best in PA one time and they did give us a reasonable price for great glasses. So it will pay us to stop in there even though it is further up the line.

"next Wednestay" is 8/8. I will report..... Since I have purchased my last two pairs of glasses at Costco (having the eye exam elsewhere) I figured I might as well do the exam there. Dr. Bittner does take my insurance, so the exam should be free.

Oh yes....These weeks are going by so slow lately.
If you are really looking to save money, have your eye exam done locally and then send away for your glasses. I have never tried this place, but my cousin has used them frequently and has always been very pleased with her glasses and even more pleased with the price.
At the very least it would be a great way to get a second or third pair.
