My boyfriend and I are moving from MD to SC this year. The boating in Southern Maryland is incredible. We have the Potomac and Patuxent Rivers and also the Chesapeake Bay. It makes me sad that we are going to lose that but how is the boating in myrtle and surrounding areas. We have a small 21' center console and a 34' Sea Ray. He says there is no use for the Sea Ray in that area and we should sell it but the boat is so beautiful and I LOVE IT! lol. Is he right? What is there to do in the area when it comes to boating. We normally hit dock bars or just anchor out with lots of other boats in different areas. Is this even a possibility here and where are the hot spots?
I'm not a boater....but why wouldn't the Sea Ray be no use for?? We have the intracoastal water way, murrells inlet, oh, and something called the Atlantic Ocean. :P
The water is warmer here, and you can keep the boat in all year long.

Its very expensive to move and mostly we like to anchor out, swim around, fender up with other boats and cook food. Do people do all of that on the intercoastal? seems likes its more of a straight shot to a bar or restaurant kind of thing.
There are several spots where you can dock, and eat/drink....a good one with entertainment/live bands is The Boathouse....it's not far from the Rt. 501 area...
As far a place that's NOT a bar/rest.....I don't know...you can stop just about anywhere along it's length!
