Anyone know where I might get a map showing country music star's homes in and around the Nashville area. I will be there in late March and would prefer a self driving tour rather than a tour company type tour.

I don't know about a good map, but we were downtown with some out of town people recently, and I picked up one of the $10 maps in the gift shop. They had Brad Paisley living at a house he hasn't owned in at least 6-7 years. And I'm not sure he ever actually lived there. The neighbors said he bought the house for an old fiancee, and then when they broke up, his friend moved in and lived there until they sold it.
So I'm not sure I would trust the maps in the gift shops.

I would just do a nashtrash tour. It seems a little stalkerish to just drive-by a country star's house (just ask Kenny Chesney).

Yep, any printed map you buy will be out of date.

If you really want to drive yourself around, get your own map and go to a website like Virtual Globetrotter and mark the names you want to see.

But I STRONGLY recommend a Gray Line or Tommy's Tour as our police force doesn't want distracted tourists looking at maps while they're driving around town.

Why do those tours still drive by Alan Jackson's old house on Green Hills Blvd. in Brentwood...he hasn't lived there in forever. Alan used to stop and talk to us if we were out for a walk and he was outside tending to horses, etc...very nice guy.

I should probably clarify, when I said "pick up a map," I meant I picked it up to glance through it. It fell open to the Brad Paisley page, and I was already familiar with that house and its history.
I didn't purchase it and then go out and question neighbors. Didn't want to give the impression that would be okay.
I agree about doing one of the tours. Try to find a coupon if you don't ancedotes you wouldn't get otherwise. Plus they are generally pretty good at not blocking traffic.

They also used to go by George Jones' old house in Woodway for a decade after he sold it. Now that it's burned down, I hope they have changed the route.

The last time I took a tour, it was up to date. But tour traffic has its downside. The city of Brentwood permanently closed a road that Faith Hill and Tim McGraw used to live on because it was an old country road that couldn't handle bus traffic or tourists parking in ditches to take pix.

Ah, the collateral damage caused by fame ...

Only way to see Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney's homes is via Google Earth . . . .

Most of the Country stars (or any other celebrity, for that matter) don't have homes that are easy to see from the street (John Rich is a notable exception). By march, if the trees and bushes are starting to bud/bloom, about all you will see is some pretty land.

My suggestion would be to drive down Belle Meade Blvd. and Chickering Rd. and just pretend all of those houses are for Country stars.

You can see his old, old house on Stanfield Rd...which is right around the corner from Tim & Faith. As mentioned above, the road is closed in the middle, so you'll have to go back out on Concord and take the long way around. Be sure to stop by Dolly's place when you're out there...
