I would think they will keep their ring of service as close to Nashville as possible. I know a lot of people in my community want it, but IMHO while Brentwood’s demographics reflect favorably on market potential for fiber to the home, our one-acre density does not. That is the opposite of what they want – they are looking for a large number of customers per mile of fiber. So, while Brentwood does have an internet-savvy populace and one that is likely to consume high-bandwidth products (two key drivers they are looking for), we don’t have the customer density.

Even things like topography and the limestone just under our topsoil could keep Nashville from getting it. But other utilities are able to bury here, so I'm sure Google could figure it out.

This link describes what they consider when looking at expansion cities:

This group posts maps of potential Google Fiber boundaries. Of course, this is just speculation but they base it on what Google has done in Utah, KC and Austin.

You have to scroll down a little to see Nashville.

I don't like this map because it gets about a mile away from our house. My hope is they take it at least to Concord Rd.

There is definitely some room to play on that map, especially since the southernmost tip just covers the Turner Farm, which is just an empty 600 acres. Like the website says, they only used predictive modeling to get those maps, and with better data they probably could be convinced to move that service area a bit to the east and south to get more households.
