Does anyone have any suggestions for something to do here in Nashville to bring in 2008 in a special way? This will be my first New Year's eve here...and I want it to be really nice.

Most of the bigger clubs, bars, and hotels have some kind of New Years event. If nothing else, you could go down to Lower Broad/2nd Avenue and see what's happening.

Me, I stay home and take a nap with the cat.

It all depends on your age. I'm going to be checking out The Guilty Pleasures (An 80's tribute band) at the Cannery Ballroom. The Features are playing at Mercy Lounge. There are really cool things going on in the Gulch. It's really hard to point you in any direction without knowing what your looking for.

Rage (nashvillerage.com) just put out an article on many of the New Year's Events in Nashville this year. It lists parties, concerts and even has a Nashville Music for Dummies section that gives you descriptions of some of the events so you know if you'd like them or not. You should be able to pick one up just about anywhere in town. Check at local establishments in town to pick up a copy.

I'm doing the party at the Wildhorse Salon. I rarely went out for New Years where I used to live, but I do go out here.

I'd still recommend the 2nd Avenue/Lower Broad area. Or possibly the Opryland Hotel.

This is actually an old thread began last year. Links to events that were posted back then are out-of-date.

Someone will probably be around to post a new link or two in the near future.
