Interesting numbers concerning Nashville's economy. Davidson county ranked 8th and Williamson ranked 10th in the USfor wage growth year over year. Davidson's average wage increased 5.5% while Williamson's increased 5.2%. Williamson was tops in the US in employment growth (6.2%) while Dsvidson's was healthy but slower at 3.3%. Those are pretty strong numbers.

The story mentions the "resurgent auto industry." With smaller counties you would expect to see big surges and drops due solely to one employer or a group of employers. If you look at Flint's numbers you'll also see that they had 0% employment growth, so their overall picture is mixed. The Nashville data is significant because Nashville is obviously a very large county and you would expect a chance in numbers would have to be broad based. Also, both Williamson and Davidson had strong employment growth and wage growth, not just one or the other.
