I need to take my niece to the airport in 2 weeks. Her flight is at 10:15 so need to get her there by 9 at the latest. Probably earlier as I know there is construction at BNA.

Assuming I would normally be on 440 around 8 - 8:30 AM, what would be my best work around? Maybe everyone is avoiding it and it's smooth sailing? A friend suggested taking Harding Pike to Donelson and coming up on the East of the airport? Any other ideas??

Thanks, all!

honestly, I've driven to the airport 3 times in the last 2 weeks. 440 is still the fastest way. One time Google maps took me to Thompson lane, Bransford and then across to the Nolensville Pike exit/onramp to 440.

Maybe at 9 isn't so bad, after the AM rush.

The other option would be to use Thompson Lane/Briley Parkway. From there is about a mile to the BNA I-40 exit.

Thanks much . . . I WILL check the traffic app before I head out. I drove up to Cincinnati and back twice in the last month. And one time it took me an hour to get from Franklin to just south of the city (Nashville). And another time I got to north of Cincinnati in 4 hours. I think some of it is just plain luck . . . maybe bumper to bumper on the shortest route is better than semi-smooth sailing on the longer one?

PS. Wow, just checked parking at BNA and the short term lot is $4 per 20 minutes starting May 6th. Might have to do a drop and and drive.

Definitely download the Waze app and use it during your drive. The app will talk you through the drive and is updated in real time by fellow drivers, so it will change your suggested route on the spot if something happens along the way.

In my experience, 440 is usually the fastest even with the construction, unless you're trying to go at 4 pm.

Took my niece to the airport yesterday (left house at 8am on a Tuesday, good weather) and after consulting the Traffic on Google Maps, from Fieldstone Farms I took Franklin Road up to Harding (255) and got to BNA in 50 minutes. 65 was stop and go. Although this took a bit longer, it was a very pleasant drive with very little back ups. Drove right into the short term parking garage - only a few spaces left but there are real time signs that tell you how many spaces on each floor AND in each aisle. In the ceiling are a string a circles - red or green - to show you at a glance where the empty spot is! I saw this technology in Australia a few years back. It's pretty cool. Thanks for all the suggestions. In the end, surface streets worked great! Drove back to Franklin the same way. Lucky that there were no back ups/one lane on Franklin Road.

When we drove to BNA last week at 10AM 440 wasn't too bad but we noticed the westbound traffic was horribly backed up so when we came home this week we took Donnelson south to Harding then got on 65S. I think this will be our way to the airport in the future. No hassle. Yes it probably took us a bit longer but we weren't stuck in traffic.

Making another Airport run next week. How are things on 440 these days? Need to leave Franklin around 11:30 on a week day. I don’t mind the back way but wondered how things were progressing? Thanks!
