I am currently coming to Nashville for a week or two starting tomorrow and am looking for a hotel. The name or brand of the hotel isn't important to me as much as where the hotel is located.

I am looking for a safe, clean, low-crime area which is preferably close to restaurants and such and not too close to downtown areas.

Any help would be appreciated and I hope you all are well.

Thanks.

We have lots and lots of hotels in Nashville. Do you have a price range and the general area you're going to be spending most of your time?

If you don't have an area in mind, one of the hotels along the West End/21st Avenue corridor would probably work for you. There's a lot of restaurants in the general area, and the ramps to both I-40/I-65 (the loop) and I-440 are close by so it would make it convenient to get to wherever you're headed. It's also a relatively safe area (close to Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities). It's close, but away from the actual downtown area.

I am using priceline, so I just need a rough idea on areas. I was thinking the airport area, but every airport district is different.

The West End area is nicer. From what others have posted in the past, they are some nice hotels near the airport, and some that are not so nice. I can't give you a reference since I live here and only rarely stay in a downtown hotel.

If you do stay near the airport, you will probably want to avoid the Murfreesboro Road area from about where the Interstate highway crosses over the road to on in towards downtown. There is a stretch of that area where there's drugs and prostitutes. They've cleaned it up a lot from what it used to be, but it would still probably be better for you to just avoid it.

If you find something on priceline, post the location and one of us can probably tell you what kind of area it is.

The area around the Opryland Hotel would also be a possibility for you. There are a lot of other hotels in the area besides the Opryland (the Opryland is expensive).

Donelson is near the airport but the West End Ave is nicer and safer. Opryland is nice but you are sort of trapped in the tourist bubble over there. Overall I'd also suggest the West End.
