This isn't oxymoronic but last week, hundreds of turtles successfully dashed out of a Georgia turtle farm and escaped into nearby undergrowth. While there was no slow-speed chase, turtle farmer David Driver tells the Chattanooga News about 1,600 reptiles got away.
It all started last week, when suspected vandals tore down or stole metal siding on Driver's property keeping the turtles penned up. Seizing their opportunity, the reptiles made a break for it: hundreds of them sped, well, maybe 'walked with purpose' to the openings and disappeared into nearby ponds.
Back in the 1950's I remember my father's hunting camp buying thousands of baby Louisiana jumbo bullfrogs. The idea was that they would stock them in the camps lake (Northeastern PA) and eventually would reap the jumbo frog legs. I was there for the 'stocking'. They took them down to the edge of the pond and released them. The frogs did not go towards the water! They looked like they were all heading Southwest – towards Louisiana. I always thought that their legs would have been in pretty good shape - after their thousand mile plus trip back home.

You would think it would'nt be that hard to round up most of them. I'm guessing they did'nt go too far. Just go walk around the nearby pond and he would probably grab half of them.
Sounds like a bunch of ELF supporters in this thread. (read domestic terrorists)
The turtle farmer was raising these for a specific purpose, no different than livestock and y'all cheer for the destruction of property and the loss of income? Sick!

Where do you think this farmer got those turtles in the first place? He broke the law.
