does not the geological term "thunk" mean anything at all to you?

Sorry, my bad.

In my defense, meteorites (or tektites) that hit the ocean (I am an oceanographer) tend to go "ker-plunk" instead of "thunk".

I always thought they go "ker-splash" when they hit the ocean.

Enough of that schist! This is getting silly, even for a mudlogger.

Well, if you think your schist is so gneiss, then ... I just don't know what that says about that.

Not necessarily; the Meteorites is an inert cold object, but the Cometsis a flaming hot object which will cause the charateristic crater with its flat bottom like that of Arizona for example.

I shall give the difference between the meteorite and the comet impact after few hours if God wills so; because I have to leave now to work.

No, it isn't like that you say.
They said about such explanation; because they had no such idea as: the meteorites may cause such rocks, and most of the Mountains are extraterrestrial in origin.

Umm no, Meteorites are a basically solid rock, Comets are dirty iceballs, BOTH would be fire hot after plowing through the atmosphere.

No, that is not true, but trying to convince you of that wuld be futile, so I won't even try. I will reiterate what I said before. The boulder is an erratic made out of basalt.

What? wow okay, No.

Smaller rocks burn up, larger ones leave craters like the one in Arizona or like really large ones(Chicxulub) result in a ELE. Yes, some medium size rocks make it to land but never in a way to form mountains.
