I moved from New Hampshire to MA yesterday for a job. I was very sad to leave as my 13 years in the state were wonderful. Maybe someday I will be able to move back.
I'm tired of seeing the "leaving/left NH and am so happy about it" notes!
I have lived in NH since 2000. Back in 2017 I returned to my home state of Connecticut for 18 months due to family issues. I couldn't wait to get outta there and back to New Hampshire. Made it back in time for Christmas this year and couldn't be happier to be Home for good!
I was expecting a better story than this, but I see you just moved to MA instead.
NH is getting worse, its getting even colder, the police state more than its ever been, its getting more left.. nice state overall but these things eventually will make it like their neighbors or more so. Sadly. NH has to be a more red state.
I am in Oregon in the Portland area now, can't be happier. I am glad I left MA behind AND NH and the entirety of New England. Can't say I tried to make it in NH though, I certainly did and liked some of it too even. I liked the idea of living in Manchester, working and making it but there was ZERO availability. NONE. I ended up being in areas I didn't want to really because Nashua was full, and Manchester pretty much was too. And if you ended up in an alternate town, it was for a reason or nobody wanted to live where I went to so hence, the availability.
The nearest New Hampshire State Liquor Store is 43 miles up I-91. Actual retail other than Walmart is inconveniently far away.
The biggest shock moving is grocery store prices when you’re not in the Market Basket footprint. Big Y is really expensive.
I hit up Aldi when I can these days. They don't have everything, but their prices are incredibly low. Like 15-20% lower than MB even!
