Anyone know of a junkyard dealer that would give you the best price for your car?Looks like around $350 is the most I can get for my son's 92' Ford Taurus.Place is called FAST CASH FOR YOUR CARS.
Looks like his car needs an engine, could get a used one with 69,000 miles on it,but $1400?,cars not even worth that, but I was hoping to get at least $500 for it.

Not running? I doubt you will be able to get $500. If a junk yard want to come and tow it for $350, I say just take it and be done with it. Of course the parts in the car will get them more than $350 but that's their business.

Another option you want to consider is to donate the car and get a tax deduction.

In general most places aren't going to pay you more than $250-$350 for a junk car, even with scrap rates as high as they are, there is just too much cost in properly recovering and disposing of all the fluids as they tear it down. One way you MIGHT get a better price is if the car is in otherwise great shape to call around to a few "buy here pay here" type lots and small mechanic shops to see if they would be interested. They may give you the $500 you are looking for, get an engine on the cheap and then turn around and sell it for $2,500 or so.

If it was my car, I would probably take the $350 if that included them coming and hauling it away.

got $250 for it that included the tow,oh well, better then nothing, lol. But for every referral I give him,he'll give me $25.Now I got to find a car for him under $1000,that's hard today.10 or 20yrs ago,you can always find them.Even the dealers are a joke with their prices, saw one today,1997 saturn with 145,000 miles on it,but for $4000!!,that's a real joke!
