We recently moved to Moorestown, from Ma. Some of the local post offices where we used to live had Santa Mailboxes this time of year. Our children would put their letters to Santa in them (with our return address) and they would always get a letter back from Santa. They were not form letters either! They actually had something in them that pertained to what my children has written! So each child received a different letter.
Does anyone know if any local post offices within a reasonable distance to Moorestown do this?
Thanks and Merry Christmas

There are only two programs that I am aware of:

1. This one is directions on writing your own letter to your kids from Santa. If you do it a certain way, the post office will send the letter back to you with appropriate "North Pole via Anchorage, AK" post marking.

2. This is the national "Letters to Santa" Campaign. The post office takes all of the letters they receive marked to Santa and then they have volunteers (from the USPS, local community groups and companies) go through them and write return letters. My guess is that where you lived before had a more formalized relationship with a group that was writing the return letters. I haven't been into an actual post office in a long time, but I'm pretty sure they all have a "Letter's to Santa" mailbox. However, there is no guarantee of a written reply unless you do number one above.

Failing that, Macy's has a "Santa Mailbox" at each of their stores. There is no reply letter, but for every letter they receive, they will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish.
