Finding an independent pediatrician is hard these days. Most of them have sold out and joined group practices. Most are part of Advocare's network these days. Personally, I don't like the pediatrics groups. We have three kids and went with an Advocare group with our first child. We got tired of seeing a different doctor every single time we went in and having to re-explain our childs unique situation. My son had repeat ear infections over the span of two months when he was around a year old. We were at the doctors office about six times in that span and saw five different doctors. Each time we had to explain, "no that won't work he's already been on that antibiotic, etc."
We received a recommendation from a doctor to check out Cadoro Pediatrics in Marlton. It's a husband and wife team and we couldn't be happier with them. All three of our kids see them (despite the fact we now live in Gloucester County) and they are not only very competent, but caring and know each of our kids very well. They are a little more limited then the group practices in terms of hours and you will often need to wait for a call back after leaving a message, but it's well worth it. They don't have a staff, so you actually talk to the doctor even when making a routine appointment. They also respond very quickly to pages on the weekends. They are affiliated with Virtua and have many contacts with CHOP both at the Voorhees facility and the main office. We had one issue where we couldn't get an appointment with a specialist for several months and they made a call and got us in within three weeks.

Can't rep you again, yet. Thanks. My nephew & his wife recently had a baby & my sister & I think that the practice that they are going to is close to negligent. I just called her & gave her the information. If the present practice does one more thing that is sub par, she's going to give the information to my nephew & tell him to call.
NJGOAT: Called Cadoro and got a call back FROM THE DOCTOR! Amazing, that never happens these days. Seeing them Friday, thank you for the recommendation!

Glad it worked out, I'm sure you will be happy with them. Chances are you will be seeing Dr. Monaco (his wife, Dr. Chunn usually is at the hospital) and my kids absolutely love him, he has a fantastic bedside manner.
