We've been checking out homes in Haworth, Ridgewood, Oradell and River Edge (even though River Edge and Oradell share a Middle/High School), we like Oradell better than River Edge.
Today, I checked out some homes (online) in New Milford. I don't know anything about the town except that it isn't as wealthy as the others that I mentioned. I was so surprised to see how much more house you get for your money! I am guessing that the overall town isn't as nice as some other Bergen County towns and possibly the schools aren't as good but I was honestly surprised to see how much you get in the 500 - 700k range compared to other towns. Is New Milford worth exploring or is it better to stick with our original choices - plus, schools are really important as well.
Regrettably, New Milford HS is not much. The biggest fly in the ointment in New Milford are the Brookchester apartments. The PD has as many calls to Brookchester as to the rest of the town combined.
