Which one would you choose?

Both remind me of parts of Queens for some reason. Probably because of the mixed Urban and Suburban areas in both towns. Personally I think they should just combine the 2 into one big city.

Queens really? I don't remember it that way. But I never spent any real time in either town. Why would you be interested in combining towns in the first place?

Due to having personal experience... both aren't desirable towns! However, Bloomfield has many more nicer areas then Belleville does. Also, Bloomfield has 2-3 train stations for commuters, and lower crime. Both are nothing to brag about but I'd much rather live in Bloomfield than Belleville.

Just because they are very similair towns in Demographics, Look and feel. If you were to drive from Bellevill to Bloomfield if you had no signs Welcoming you into each town you would probably think you were in the same municapality. ITs like driving through Hudson County. For the most part it looks like one continuous urban city.

After seeing "Jersey Boys" on Broadway last week, I now have a certain fondness for Belleville, lol.

Just saw a music documentary the other night about a band(current pop variety) that grew up in Belleville. It was very entertaining and they credit growing up in that area with their dark humor and melancholy-and their other side of the tracks outlook.

Bloomfield has very nice areas. The historic section is on the Nutley border has beautiful colonials near "the green" and the part that borders uppper montclair is also fantastic. Look near the park - between Grove street and Watchung. I have yet to see a desirable neighborhood in Belleville.

Bloomfield was actually once comprised of Belleville, Nutley, and Montclair. Parts of it are still more rural than suburban: Bloomfield GreenWays
