Can anyone tell me what the traffic situation is like during morning and evening commute times, from Allentown to Bridgewater? Thanks.

I don't know the volume of traffic from Allentown to the NJ border but I do know the traffic in NJ on Rt. 78 heading east during rush hour can be brutal. During snowstorms 78 has been shut down on the mountain outside of Bloomsbury and be extra cautious around the curve on 78 in Clinton and the area around Clinton. Traffic where Rt. 78 and Rt. 22 converge is also heavy.

I can tell you that after living in Bridgewater for 30 years and traveling I78 since it's existence you could not have chosen a more miserable commute.

If you want to get an idea of the commute try driving 78 West from Bridgewater at about 7:00 am Mon-Fri observing the Eastbound traffic until you reach Allentown. If that does not convince you to abandon that commute then nothing will.

Allentown to Bridgewater is almost 60 miles, so even with only light traffic you're looking at an hour. If you're commuting during peak traffic, probably 1.5, and any accident, weather, or other issue will have you looking at 2 hours+. Sounds like fun.......
