yes it is at AM going into the tunnel there is HOV immunity to traffic. At the PM if traffic is backed up ur ****ed but not NYC gridlock ****ed.
Like I said in another thread, the traffic moves faster in the bus lanes than the car lanes, but considering the fact that buses come from all over NJ, he's still going to see at least some traffic by the tunnel.

the bus lanes are only by the tunnel. Once you are out of tunnel you will sit in traffic. No way 50 minutes. Are they taking the parkway on Friday afternoon.
My husband takes the 5:30 or 5:40 out of port authority and is usually in the house (in Hazlet) at 6:30 or 6:35pm. The Port Authority Schedules are pretty accurate. The Wall Street rush hour ones are nonsense.

he is right those lanes speed things up and buses sometimes WILL DETOUR. I had a bus do it once through staten island to avoid NJTP traffic.
