Good bye newark

Newark Mayor Cory Booker may run for U.S. Senate | NJ.com

"......as well as papers filed with the Federal Election Commission......"

It may be time for him to move on, he did a valient job in a tough city to really enact much change due to a selfish and corrupt council.
There is no one that is qualified to replace him, the council members do their best to stall any growth and a few of them hang out with gang bangers.

the senate is a sweet job. do nothing but collect your bribes and sell your vote to the highest bidder. thats basically what all legislators do.

I think Booker did the best he could but Newark is not much better today than the day he took office. I am not sure if the city is beyond help or if he was simply ineffective.

On the surface a run for the senate would seem like a natural for a dem mayor from a D-party stronghold with a solid line of Dem mayors from the 40s..except for one independant mayor.

Serving in Newark rates success by merit of endurance rather than measured accomplishment.

The story takes a wrong turn when you read the article and see the spinmeisters basis for a run.

"Mayor Booker knows President Obama, Senator (Robert) Menendez and other federal legislators who support Newark, its citizens, and its businesses, need our support in next year's election to continue their outstanding work for Newark and other cities around the country,"

A 'nationally known mayor' ?

The Dem hired rabid dogs on cable shows claimed no one outside of NYC even knew who Anthony Weiner was when asked about the libs losing their most prominent mouthpice and supporter. The nation knows Corey Booker?

Booker's only claim to fame is the 15 min he spent with Conan Obrien.

Really, Booker seems like a decent guy but this is about the new D-party using locally popular figures to further their cause, which by any standards is an abysmal failure. If Booker ran as an independant maybe, but as an associate of Obama and Menendez???????

Again the people who surround Booker make him look like a fool when they twist the news beyond believability to enhance his halo. This is right out of the Obama puppeteers playbook used to manipulate single minded inner city people they pretend to protect. People who they intentionally mislead, people who believe Obama will pay their bills 'from his stash".

To stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Obama, Menendez and Pelosi is wrong at so many levels.

The D-party maintins the status quo of cities like Newark across the country to ensure a guaranteed voting pool with corkscrew districts that ensure people like a Barney Frank, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and even Marion Barrie, Charlie Wrangell can commit crimes and still be re-elected.

Menendez main support comes from the trail lawyers assoc.

Big money now encourages CB to run, well of course they do.

How's that 100mil$$ donate to Newark schools doing????

"I think the formation of the PAC is a clear indication of his intention and I think raising lots of money is a longstanding tradition in scaring away the opposition," said Brigid Harrison, a political science professor at Montclair State University. "Assuming that Senator Lautenberg were running in 2014, there is also the possibility that other potential candidates are waiting in the wings."

Newark Mayor Cory Booker eyes possible run for U.S. Senate | NJ.com

This is bad for Newark as a ghetto unqualified Mayor will step up like Sharpe Jr, development will stop, crime will go on as a lot of the ghetto government workers hang out with gang bangers, and no sound fiscal plan will emerge other than to ask for a bail out or hand out and more public/section 8 housing will be created from the government incentives that are given.

Here's your future mayor newark (no seriously) the son of convicted felon Sharpe James who likes to cause traffic jams in downtown newark to further his misguided cause of lying and cheating and intimidation. I still remember when Sharpe James kept calling Booker a carpet bagger and f*gg*t when they were running in 2005/2006
