I live on a cul de sac street with regular houses that are on about .4 acres a piece. There is no sidewalk. Today, I saw a woman who does not live on our street walk her dog. She let the leashed dog walk on my neighbors property, sniffing, peeing, doing its business. She had baggies on her so I don't think poop would get left behind. I don't think people should allow their dogs on other people's property. Am I wrong?

I used to live on a corner with sidewalks & people had their dogs go on our front lawn everyday. Most picked up, but once someone tried to kick snow over it... some just left it there. If I had a dog, I would just feel wrong watching it go on a neighbor's lawn in front of their big picture window.

there is something called 'limited trespass'. the areas closest to the street are often considered town property, hence the reason for sidewalks own by the town in the area, are the trees by the street owned by the town. i believe they can walk in that small area,

Many towns have "pooper-scooper" laws. That applies to solid waste left behind.

If they are walking on what is considered public and removing the waste, they are within their rights.

Do you mean her lawn, or the strip of grass by the road?

Strip of grass is fair game (but pick up poop)
Actual lawn is not

technically speaking, the first X amount of feet is the city's property, no?

and who cares? You sound like the lady in my hometown that made our city council pass a law that would fine you if you didn't have poop bags on you (i grew up in a town that neighbored dairy farms, so this is sort of comical), yet she would walk the streets smoking cigarettes and tossing her butts on the ground. Poop goes away in a day, but those cigs are still sitting around our neighborhood, years and years later.

Now, if they are walking their dog and not picking up the poop, then you can complain.

I live on a street like the one OP mentioned with no sidewalk and no, the poop on my property didn't go away in a day. Believe me I know because I let it sit there for a few weeks until I made my fiancee pick it up My neighbor got one of those signs with a cut out of a dog pooping and it says "curve your dog". Need to get me one.

Speaking of dog poop, I fell off of my bicycle when I was a kid and my face landed face first on fresh poop. I hate dog poop.
